NCIIPC has conceived a unique initiative to enroll the talented individuals of the country in Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) to secure the CIIs of the country. The scheme involved enrolling all talented VAPT professionals/Ethical Hackers/ Pentesters who were willing to devote time for finding vulnerabilities in CIIs and earn rewards in the form of Bug Bounty. In parallel, NCIIPC approached and brought onboard various CII entities who were willing to get their IT infrastructure pen tested.
After proper vetting of the enrolled personnel, the exercise was conducted in online mode in March 2024 wherein security vetted talented ethical hackers/ security researchers/ VAPT professionals participated to find out the security loopholes in a controlled Pentesting environment of CII entities for finding high & critical level vulnerabilities. Post completion of the exercise NCIIPC worked in synergy with the CII entities to get these vulnerabilities patched. This innovative scheme, apart from finding vulnerabilities in CIIs also helped to create a pool of talented cyber security researchers who can be deployed by NCIIPC for special assignments.
